The whitetail deer harvest from this year’s gun season was down almost 18 percent. That’s a significant ecological and cultural issue Wisconsinites need to resolve. At a minimum, we’ll see an erosion of a cultural tradition. At worst, it’s sign of damage caused by massively increased predation by wolves which will have immense impact on crop land as the deer and the wolves continue to move farther south.
