The DEI/Compensation/Building package volleyed back and forth for a week, with the UW System’s Board of Regents holding five meetings over the last seven days. The compromise package crafted by UW System President Jay Rothman, UW Madison’s Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin and Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos finally was approved last night by the Regents.

It was remarkable that the Regents rejected the plan in the first place, as their two most significant hires (Rothman and Mnookin) crafted and recommended passage of the compromise.
