Data from this morning’s WEC update. Votes cast as of the end of the day on Sunday.
Takeaways:
- When comparing how many votes have been cast to how many are expected to be cast, the strongest correlation appears to be “large vs small.” Whether the county is blue, red, or purple, the big counties are above the state average while rural counties are below the state average.
- This makes sense because rural voters rarely have to worry about long lines on election day. Even though early in-person voting numbers are way up in rural areas, voting on election day is still the preferred voting method in rural Wisconsin.
- Among the big blue and big red counties, the WOW counties are running a bit higher than the big blue counties.
